Product Revew: Maybelline The Falsies Mascara

I hate how easily persuable I am when it comes to makeup. As soon as someone mentions a product they like, especially Youtube gurus, I immediately want to run out and buy it! With that being said, I can't remember where I first saw this mascara reviewed, it was probably on Makeup Alley or someone's blog, all I know is I bought it the minute I spotted it at CVS.

What it is:

"Instant false glam in a tube
The Falsies Mascara delivers a false lash look; giving you a full set of voluminous, bold, fanned out lashes and the appearance of no gaps from any angle.
The Pro-Keratin and Fibre enriched formula is designed to deliver immediate results, distributing volume and visible intensity to your lashes. The patented ‘Spoon’ shaped brush helps fan lashes out.
The Falsies Mascara is designed to give the appearance of no gaps and spaces. In a wink lashes you didn’t even know you had look visibly thickened!"

Video Review: Favorite Drugstore Mascaras

Here's a review of some of my favorite drugstore mascaras (and a few that I don't like). I didn't have time to do a really thorough review of each one, so if there is one that you would like a more in depth review of, let me know!

P.S. The quality should improve hopefully, I just uploaded it. Is it just me or does Youtube change the colors of your videos and make them look kinda washed out?

Cover Girl Lash Blast Fusion Review & Giveaway!

Yay, I was so excited when I got home and there was a package waiting for me, don't you just love when that happens?

And what was inside, you ask? (lol, you can probably already guess because of the title, but I like to add a little suspense :P)

The new Cover Girl Lashblast Fusion mascara that I had mentioned in my previous post! Yay! I had gone ahead and pre-ordered it on Cover Girl's Facebook  pre-sale that they had going on

Tag: My Go To Beauty Products

Hey everyone! I just want to thank everyone who tagged me for this (I think it was Maddy Madeline, and someone else? Sorry, I can't remember!)

Anyways, this looked like a really fun tag! However, I rotate products so often, I never use the same thing everyday. So I just decided to list what I am using the most of right now

Primer: Monistat Anti Chafing Powder Gel

Concealer: Sonia Kashuk Hidden Agenda Palette and NYX Concealer in a Jar in Beige (finally got the right shade!)

Foundation: Revlon Photo Ready Foundation in Golden Beige

Powder: Lotree Moisture Skin Primer Pact

Setting Powder: Make Up For Ever HD Powder

Blush: I use so many different ones! But I really like these two, Hard Candy Blush Crush Baked Blush in Living Doll and MAC Blush Ombre in Ripe Peach

Bronzer: Hard Candy So Baked Bronzer in Tropics

Contour: I usually just use my bronzer to contour

Highlighter: MAC Mineralize Blush Duo in Rhapsody in Two,Lotree Shimmer Bling Face Designing, or the highlighter that I got from Sophia (retail therapy)

Eyeshadow Primer: Urban Decay Primer Potion in Eden

Mascara: Loreal Telescopic in Carbon Black or Cover Girl Lash Blast Fusion

Eyeliner: Maybelline Lasting Drama Gel Liner

Brows: Anastasia Brow Whiz in Brunette

Eyeshadow: NYX Runway Eyes Palette in Jazz Night

Lipstick: Icing lipstick in Lt. Pink, Revlon Matte in Pink Pout, and MAC lipstick in Myth

Lipgloss: Hard Candy Plumping Lip Serum in Girl Next Door and MAC Cremesheen in Boy Bait (these glosses go great with the lipsticks above)

Lipliner: don't wear any currently but need to get one :P

Face brushes: the white one and the funky shaped one is Sonia Kashuk, the No. 7 is Boots, the last one is e.l.f. Complexion brush, and the other 3 are the high definition ones from Wal Mart. You'll notice I don't have any MAC brushes, that is because I am too much of a cheapskate to spend so much on one brush! :P But maybe someday I'll eventually break down and buy one...:P

Eye brushes: the gold ones are Sonia Kashuk, the white and the last one are e.l.f. and the other two are cheap ones from Target

Nailpolish: I rarely paint my nails because 1.) I am too lazy, and 2.) My nails are always breaking off and chipping because they are so weak (I don't drink milk) so they don't look good enough to paint. But I will occasionally buy a new polish, but I don't have a go to one

Whew, that took awhile! So I have seen this one on quite a few Onsugar blogs already, so I am going to tag some of my Blogger friends (and those Onsugarettes who have not done it yet! :P)

Thanks again for the tag!

Hard Candy Product Reviews

Ever since I heard about Hard Candy being at Wal Mart I have not been able to stop looking at the products! Every time I go I always want to pick up something from their line. However, I currently only own four of their products, but will probably be purchasing more in the future.

Here are the products I own:

Product Review: Rimmel The Max Volume Flash Mascara

I don't know why but lately I seem to be obsessed with mascara! I know I keep doing reviews of mascaras but...I swear this obsession will cease eventually :)
Until then, I have another review, this time it is Rimmel London's The Max Volume Flash Mascara (what a mouthful!)
Don't you just looove the packaging? It's pink and gold! So girly :) Anyhoo, this mascara promises "14x the volume with no mess!" It is enriched with collagen and keratin to give you big, voluminous lashes....so what was my take on this?
Well, my first impression, I love the package. But then I pulled out the brush and it looked like there was a ton of mascara gooped on it
Not really a good sign...so here is my plain ol' wimpy lashes
and here they are after applying a couple coats
"Fast no mess lashes?" Ha! As you can see, the first thing that happened when I held the wand up to my lashes was a big ol' mess!
But after a couple coats, you can tell that this has lengthened my lashes decently. As for the 14x the volume, eh, it's okay, but I wouldn't say it was remarkable or anything. The brush wasn't as bad as I thought after the first coat or two....the wand reminds me of Loreal's Voluminous or Extra Collagen mascara brushes.
Rating: 3.8/5
Pros: the packaging (love the colors!), lengthens
Cons: doesn't add very much volume, not too fond of the brush
Would I repurchase? Maybe...but it's not on the top of my list for mascaras

Product Review: Loreal Telescopic Mascara

Okay, I know I just did a mascara review a couple of days ago, but I just have to rave about this mascara! I purchased this after returning the Covergirl Lashblast Length and I am sooo glad I did!

The packaging is kind of funky, it's made to look like a telescope, hence the name I presume? When you first pull the wand out of the tube, it's a little awkward because there is actually a ring around the inside of the top that combs any excess mascara off the wand. Although it makes it a little difficult to put the wand back inside, it's not enough to deter me in any way, and it's actually very useful instead of having to wipe off the excess on the rim, which I hate doing!

At first glance I was a little worried because the wand is pretty much the same as the Lashblast Length brush, and also the Hard Candy mascara brush that I reviewed previously and hated! But not to worry, because this brush is sooo much better! It really makes the mascara glide on effortlessly and defines and lengthens with just a few coats, and all without clumping. It also reaches the inner corner where my tiny lashes are that I can never get to.

Before shot (and for those of you who say I have perfect eyebrows, this obviously is not the case!)

After 2 coats (I had to fix my eyebrows, they looked horrible)

After a couple more coats:

I love Loreal mascaras! I am always satisfied with them.

Rating: 5/5, one of my new favorites!

Pros: Lengthens, defines, no clumping, packaging

Cons: The brush is kind of flimsy so be careful when putting back in the tube

Would I repurchase? Definintely! This was definitely worth the wait!

CVS Haul

Today I went to CVS to return the Covergirl Lashblast Length that had disappointed me so :P I had totally forgotten that CVS has a beauty guarantee that allows you to return any makeup product that you are unsatisfied with, even if it's been opened. Of course, once I had returned it, I couldn't just leave without checking out a few items right? :)

Well, after much debate over whether or not to purchase anything (and a total lack of willpower) this is what I ended up with:

Loreal's Telescopic Mascara in Carbon Black

Sally Hansen Fast Fix Eyeshadow Base

NYC nailpolish in Polyester Pink Creme

NYC lipstick in Sheer Red

Maybelline Eyestudio Eyeshadow in My Icon

I swear, I should not be allowed to go shopping when I am bored! But I have really been wanting to try the Telescopic mascara and the Eyestudio eyeshadows forever, so I consider it money well spent. Or maybe I'm just trying to convince myself so I don't feel so guilty :P

Stay tuned for reviews, swatches, and an FOTD with these products!

Product Review: Covergirl Lashblast and Lashblast Length

I have been using Covergirl's Lashblast for a little while now so I thought I should probably do a review. Since I ended up loving it, I couldn't resist getting the Lashblast length as well, since I figured that it would work just as well as the original, plus my other lengthening mascara is pretty much gone.

Obviously, the two are very different in size. The regular one is very fat! It actually took awhile to get used to holding the brush because the handle is so big! I like the Lashblast Length's packaging, I tend to like slimmer designs when it comes to mascaras. I like the fact that the packaging of both are very bright, it makes it easier to spot them in my cluttered makeup drawer :)

First I will review the original Lashblast. Like I said, the package is very wide and round, which can be kind of difficult to handle in the beginning.

Same with the applicator brush, it is very wide and the bristles are really short. At first I had a little trouble applying the mascara because of this, but I have the hang of it now. :)

So what do I think of this mascara? I LOVE it! Seriously! It makes my lashes look so much fuller and darker, and even though it is a volumizing mascara, it does actually lengthen my lashes too, not to extreme lengths or anything, but better than other volumizing mascaras I've tried. I think one of the best things about though is the fact that it doesn't clump whatsoever! You can apply like twenty layers and it still doesn't get clumpy!

Before:

After 2 coats:

And after like 10 coats!:

Rating: 5/5! This definitely is one of the best mascaras I've found so far!

Pros: Volumizing, clump free, lengthening

Cons: The only con I can think of is the packaging and the applicator being so bulky. But once you get used to it, it's no problem.

Would I repurchase? Definitely!!!

Now onto the Lashblast Length! I figured since I loved the original so much, this one had to be just as good.. Uh, wrong! I was so disappointed in this! And it actually took me forever to decide between this one and a different mascara ( I think it was Loreal's Telescopic mascara). I even read really good reviews about this one too :(

The tube is a lot skinnier than the original

So is the applicator...

Here's a comparison of the two-big difference!

Before:

After 2 coats:

After about 10 coats:

It did lengthen my lashes somewhat, but just barely, the original formula lengthened about as much as this one, if not more. It definitely didn't do as good a job as my Maybelline XXL Extensions mascara. And the brush is really tiny and didn't hold onto any product at all, I had to pump the wand up and down in the tube like twenty times and it still barely held onto any formula.

Rating: 3/5! I was really disappointed in this! :(

Pros: Skinny packaging, no clumping

Cons: Formula doesn't do anything, applicator is too small and doesn't hold onto any formula

Would I repurchase? I really don't think so!

Product Review: L’Oreal Extra-Volume Collagen Mascara

So after hearing rave reviews about L'oreal's new collagen mascara, I just had to try it out!

This revolutionary formula has new lash plumping hydra-collagen for the ultimate lush lashes and long lasting, non-clumping wear. The formula is buildable and promises 12x  fuller lashes that doesn't flake or smudge. The uniquely designed brush is customized with soft, luxurious bristles to plump and define every lash, including those hard to reach corner lashes. So what was my take on this mascara? Well,  first appearances are a big deal to me, so I immediately fell in love with the sleek black tube that it comes in, you could definitely think it was a higher end mascara. It goes on smoothly and plumps each lash; however, it doesn't do much for lengthening, which isn't a big surprise when it comes to volumizing mascaras, and I found that after a couple of coats in can start to clump a bit. I also didn't like the brush that well, it's a little difficult to get into the corners without smudging. But after adding a coat or two of lengthening mascara on top and running a lash comb through, my eyelashes defnitely look fuller and more defined.

And having short Asian lashes, this mascara made them stand out a lot more! It also washes off easily with soap and water, heck, even just plain water does the trick :)

I would definitely recommend this mascara to anyone wanting full, lush lashes!
