Missing In Action

Hey guys! Long time no see, huh? Sorry for the absence, my life has just been up and down lately and I've just been trying to catch up. I honestly don't have a huge reason for my disappearance, other than a lack of inspiration and I just finished moving into a new apartment. Plus I've been trying to grow my fashion blog more, since that is actually more my passion, and I'm also going to be opening my own online vintage clothing store! So yeah, lots of things have been happening lately that have hindered my ability to update this blog.
I don't really have a post planned right now either, I just thought I'd update so you guys didn't think I was dead or anything. To be honest, I've kind of lost interest in beauty blogging lately...not because I don't like it, but like I said, fashion is much more my thing and something that I think I am better at. With that being said, I will still keep this blog and will update occasionally, but probably not on a regular basis, i.e., every couple days; it will probably be only once a week or less, depending on how much time I have.
I do want to say 'hi' to all my new followers, and thanks to all my old ones for sticking around!

Here are a couple pictures of what I've been up to lately:

Hauled a few things....

Fall Video Makeup Tutorial #1 - Berry

Finally, a makeup tutorial! This is the first of a few fall inspired tutorials that I have planned. This look features a lot of berry plummy shades. Sorry for the poor fuzzy quality of it, I think filming by my window makes it fuzzier, I'll have to find a new spot to film; also please pay no attention to the hideous bags under my eyes, let's just say sleep is a thing I am no longer familiar with :(  Oh, and wouldn't it just figure that I happened to paint my nails the night after I filmed this? I think in all my videos my polish is half chipped away! I'm such a slacker....well I hope you enjoy it! I know I look a little washed out, but like I said it's because I'm right in front of a window...or maybe I'm just trying to make excuses :P If you like this video please support my channel by subscribing to it! :)

P.S. A couple people have mentioned me doing Halloween tutorials...I'm not really that creative (have you seen Jen from From Head To Toe's videos? I'd look like such an amateur compared to her!) but I might be able to do a simple one. Have any ideas? Let me know!

P.S.S Have you entered my giveaway yet? It ends November 1st so be sure to hurry!

Drugstore Concealer Reviews

e.l.f. Tone Correcting Concealer: This formula is a little too liquidy and sheer for me and doesn't provide enough coverage. It might be okay for those who only need minimal concealing, but for me this was a bust. The good things about it are that it is very inexpensive, doesn't feel dry or cakey, and is easy to apply because of the wand applicator.

Product Review: E.L.F Studio Line Blushes

Even though everyone and their mothers have probably already seen and bought these, I thought I would do a proper review for those who haven't actually tried them yet. You guys have probably seen these in a few other haul posts I've done, but I haven't actually taken the time to do a full review, so here we go :)

What it is:

E.L.F. Studio Line Blushes

"The soft sheer texture blends into the skin for a silky finish. Designed to be worn alone or layered for more depth. Highlight your complexion with a subtle healthy glow!"
(Taken from the E.L.F website)

FOTD: NYX Eyeshadow in Ocean Frost

Like the creative title? I swear, my creativity is seriously lacking these days...

Here is my FOTD I wore today. I have no idea why I wore such dramatic makeup because all I did was take my son for a walk in the local redwood park. People kept looking at me weirdly too, like "why is she wearing so much makeup to take her son for a walk?" But I don't care, I needed the practice in blending.

Requested: How I Do My Eyebrows

This post has been requested for some time now and is pretty much what I get asked the most about, besides my skincare routine. Why, I don't know ,because honestly I hate my eyebrows and they are such a pain in the ass to maintain! Long story short, I overplucked when I was younger and have been paying for it ever since. And for some reason, I've had hairs fall out where I haven't even plucked, so now they are more sparse than they used to be. I have to fill them in everyday or else I look weird. :P

So here is a step by step guide to how I do my eyebrows. You obviously don't have to follow what I do, but if you are new to grooming your brows, you can follow what I do and hopefully it helps you :)

Video Review: E.L.F. Studio Line Products

So here is my first video review! I am just reviewing a couple of my favorite e.l.f products and also some that I got in my haul recently that a couple people wanted me to review.

My camera isn't very good so it's hard to see some of the swatches, so here they are:
Eyeliner and Shadow Stick in Green/Moss

Waterproof Eyeliner Pen in Black

Contouring Blush and Bronzer Duo ( I forgot to take a picture of the actual package! )

And swatches of all the blushes I have ( Natural Nymph is a lipstick though, not a blush) :

Hope you like this video! Let me know what you think and like/dislike!

e.l.f 50% Studio Line Haul

Is it just me or does it seem like every other haul I do features e.l.f products? Haha, maybe it's because I'm broke all the time...or maybe I'm broke because I keep buying more makeup :P Either way, I hauled a couple of items from the 50% off sale I previously mentioned (btw, I"m not affiliated with e.l.f. I just really like their products, and they're cheap!)

Now even though I love e.l.f it seems like their shipping takes forever! I ordered this stuff like almost two weeks ago and it just arrived today, whereas when I ordered from Cherry Culture it got here super fast. Maybe I'm just too impatient? Well at any rate I was very happy to find this package in my mailbox today because I was having a crappy day and this helped somewhat.

The Goods

Their new blush shades-I didn't even realize they had gotten new shades! Left is Fuschia Fusion (fuschia with gold shimmer, similar to NARS Super Orgasm), Glow (similar to NARS Albatross), and Pink Passion (matte hot pink)

This isn't part of their Studio Line but I've been wanting it for some time, it's their mineral lipstick in Natural Nymph

Here's swatches of the blushes and lipstick-natural lighting

with flash

Finally got the flat top Powder Brush-it's so soft, and just the right size for me!

High Definition Face Powder

They threw in this cute little lip gloss tin

Here is a picture of me wearing all 3 blushes at once (I don't know why I tried them all on at once) and the lipstick. I wish my camera didn't make nude lipsticks look more pink, in real life the lipstick is much more nude looking, similar to Revlon Colorburst Soft Nude. Oh and I cut my bangs last night out of sheer boredom, what do you think? They are annoying the hell out of me already! I also dyed my hair a bit ago but you can't tell in this light as much, it's more obvious in real life though.

And a shot of my lonely Friday night dinner-my boyfriend is at work and my roomates are gone

Yes, that is a Coors Light, I happen to like cheap beer :P

Hope you all have a great weekend! If anyone wants me to review any of these just let me know :)

Old Makeup...Revisited

I was going through my makeup today and I realized I have quite a few products that I have completely forgotten about, even though at one time I used them pretty regularly. It's not that I didn't even like them, I just have gotten so much other makeup that they ended up being pushed back in the drawer to where I couldn't see them. I'm sure you girls have experienced this as well.

Here are a few of the things that I rediscovered:

Random makeup palette from Ross

A couple of the swatches, these are surprisingly really nice!

Victoria Secrets All Over Highlighter

This gives a really nice glow without a glittery effect

MAC Studio Finish Concealer NC30

This concealer is really nice and creamy, good coverage, matches well...how did I forget about this? :P

Eye Transformer palette from e.l.f., this transforms dark shadows into new shades

It's hard to tell from this picture, but it really does change them!

Maybelline Eyestudio eyeshadows (left, My Icon, right, Silver Starlet)

These eyeshadows are super pretty and silky smooth!

Loreal Extra Volume Collagen mascara (I don't know why this picture came out so weird!)

I don't like the brush but I do like the formula

e.l.f Complexion Perfection, I didn't bother with swatches because they wouldn't show up on my hand

So ladies, 'fess up! What makeup have you forgotten about in the dark corners of your makeup drawers?

Target e.l.f. haul!

Yesterday the bf and I got in a huge fight, so I left the house to cool down (we're better now though). Out of habit I ended up driving to Target which is my 'go to' place when I'm bored or need to get out of the house. I swear, I could live at Target!

I started browsing the makeup aisles to see if there was anything I needed and almost had a heart attack when I saw that they had finally gotten e.l.f products in stock! I have been waiting for them to start carrying e.l.f. products ever since I heard that other Targets had been.

A word of advice: never go shopping when you're mad! The following haul is what results from it!

Omg I love that their products are so cheap! Everything I got only cost around like $19 or so. And I was so happy that they carried the Studio line too!

So here is what I got:

Their custom eyeshadow palette. You choose your own shades and pop them into the compact, the shadows have a magnetic back to them. Surprisingly, they hold really well even though they pop in and out so easily.

Eyebrow gel and powder, it's darker in real life though. I wouldn't really call it a gel though, more like a wax

Blushes in Berry Merry and Blushing Rose. I looove their blushes, and these ones are super pretty because they had gold shimmer in them.

Healthy Glow bronzing powder in Sun Kissed, this is super pretty too and has gold shimmer as well, but nothing too crazy.

Waterproof eyeliner pen

Liquid lipstick pen

And two more eyeshadow brushes, I love these! This is what I use everyday for my eyeshadow applications. I was so mad because the brush I really want is their flat top face brush but they were sold out, I'm going to have to go back later and get it :P

So there is the damage done! I would've done swatches as well but there were already so many pictures, so if anyone would like swatches or reviews of particular products just let me know.

Hope you are all having a great weekend!
