Product Review: E.L.F Studio Line Blushes

Even though everyone and their mothers have probably already seen and bought these, I thought I would do a proper review for those who haven't actually tried them yet. You guys have probably seen these in a few other haul posts I've done, but I haven't actually taken the time to do a full review, so here we go :)

What it is:

E.L.F. Studio Line Blushes

"The soft sheer texture blends into the skin for a silky finish. Designed to be worn alone or layered for more depth. Highlight your complexion with a subtle healthy glow!"
(Taken from the E.L.F website)

Hype:

These blushes have quite a cult following, due to their affordability, packaging, and formulas. Many have compared these to NARS blushes, with some of the colors and even the packaging bearing similar resemblances.

Price:

These are a bit more expensive since they are part of the Studio Line, but even so they will only set you back a mere $3.00...how much more affordable can you get?

Packaging:

The E.L.F. Studio Line products are packaged differently than the regular product line and therefore are more expensive. Like I stated above, the packaging is very similar to NARS blushes, in terms of shape and design. They are approximately the size of a credit card, but are about a 1/2 inch smaller width-wise. The material is a thick black plastic, smooth and sleek that can be easily wiped down, but are also a bit hard to stack since they are slippery and the corners are rounded. Its compact styling snaps tightly shut so you can be sure that it will not fly open if you stick it in your purse. Inside houses a tiny mirror which makes it handy to apply on the go; however, these do not come with a brush applicator. The lid consists of a see through panel that allows you to see the color inside, which makes it very handy to grab the one you want and go.

Formula:

The formulas vary from blush to blush, but for the most part they are smooth and silky, with great pigmentation. There are a few that more powdery than others; those would be Blushing Rose, Berry Merry, Gotta Glow, and Fuschia Fusion. Gotta Glow is the most powdery of them all and can get a bit messy, so use extra care when using it. Pink Passion is the only one that is completely matte; all the others contain bits of gold shimmer, and Mellow Mauve has bluish undertones with subtle shimmer. Peachy Keen is the one with the least pigmentation and requires more layering than the others, especially for those with darker skintones. Overall, the color selections are excellent and range from coral to hot pink to a golden highlighter (Gotta Glow). The staying power is decent as well and should last a good couple of hours. The only one that I don't own yet is Tickled Pink, which looks to be a matte rosy pink color, but I'm not entirely sure.

Oops, forgot to take a swatch of this one, sorry!

Overall Thoughts:

I would absolutely recommend these blushes to anyone who is on a budget and looking for beautiful blushes. The packaging is sleek and compact while the formulas are silky smooth and gorgeous.  As for the price, $3.00 is something that everyone can afford and the quality is excellent. I mean, hey, for all 8 blushes I only paid $24.00! That's cheaper than just 1 NARS blush!

Where to Buy:

You can purchase these at www.eyeslipsface.com or at your local Target (only certain Targets carry e.l.f. products, so you might want to call them before you go)
