Asian Makeup Brand Reviews, Part 1

Hello, hello all my fellow bloggers, it's about time I did an actual post huh? Please excuse my slacking off lately, I've just had a lot on my mind and with school starting I just haven't had the time or motivation.
Anyhoo, so these next couple of posts are going to be about some Asian makeup that I've had but haven't taken the time to actually introduce to you or review properly. I actually don't know a lot about Asian makeup, and I only started getting an interest in it after I started blogging, so I'm still pretty new to a lot of it as well. But I just thought I would share some of what I have and give a brief overview that way those who are interested in new brands or have never tried Asian makeup can get an idea of their quality.
So first up on my list of brands to review is Lotree. Now I myself had never heard of this brand until my sister sent me some of their makeup earlier this year from Korea (in fact, she is pretty much responsible for me having any Asian makeup at all, besides what I've gotten in swaps).
Isn't the packaging absolutely gorgeous? I don't know if you can really tell, but the packaging is a dark royal purple, so sleek and elegant looking!

Highlighters Are My Friends

Hi, my name is Liana and I am a highlighter-holic(?). Okay, that didn't flow very well....but what I'm trying to say is that I love highlighters! I use one every day to give my skin a glowy finish, and to highlight under my browbones and the inner corners of my eyes. Here are some of the highlighters that I currently own:

My Current Faves

Hey girls, just thought I would share some of my current makeup faves that I use, some are newer and some i have reviewed already for you

1. Loreal Telescopic Mascara in Carbon Black - read my review here

2. Anastasia Brow Whiz in Brunette - read my review here

3. Hard Candy Plumping Serum Volumizing Lip Gloss - read my review here

4. Urban Decay Primer Potion in Eden - I will be doing a review of this soon.

5. Lotree Moisture Skin Primer Pact - this is one of the items my sister sent me from Korea. It's a compact powder that glides on silky smooth and gives my skin a nice matte finish. I like to wear this with a little concealer on the days I don't want to apply foundation.

6. MAC Spring Forecast Blush Ombre in Ripe Peach - read my review here

7. Jane No Show Oil Free Concealer in 03 Light-Medium - Surprisingly, this is one of my favorite concealers. I bought it at Wal Mart (?) for a couple bucks and it works pretty well. It matches my skin and blends in evenly without looking cakey or enhancing any dryness.

8. Maybelline Eyestudio Eyeshadows - I only have two of these (My Icon and Silver Starlet, above) but I am really loving these and am thinking about getting more! They are smooth, pigmented, and blend in easily. I love all the different shades they come in and the fact that you are pretty much getting a couple shadows in one package. I did a review that you can read here

9. Wal Mart High Definition Makeup Brushes - Omg, I am totally in love with these brushes! They are suuper soft and pretty affordable! I take a little longer now to apply my makeup because I spend so much time running them across my face! :P You can check out my review that I did here.

There you go, these are some of the products that I use the most! If anyone has any particular questions about these products, don't hesitate to ask!

P.S. Do you like my new watermark? Yes, no?

Valentine's Look #2: Funky Fuschia!

Here is Look #2 in my Valentine's FOTD's, Funky Fuschia. Judging from the title, I tried to use more vibrant fuschia colors, however I didn't really have any that were fuschia exactly, so I used whatever was closest.

Products I used:

Face: Revlon Photo Ready Foundation in Golden Beige

MUFE HD Powder

MAC Studio Finish Concealer in NC30

Hard Candy Baked Blush in Living Doll

Lotree Shimmer Bling Designing

Eyes: Loreal Telescopic Mascara in Carbon Black

Pink, white, lavender, and black eyeshadow from my Profusion palette

Sonia Kashuk Dramatically Defining Gel Liner in Ebony

Lips: elf Lip Duo (I don't know what the shade is called, but it's a bright fuschia pinkish :P)

Don't forget tomorrow is the last day to enter my Valentine's Giveaway! I will be drawing a random name tomorrow and posting the results, so you have until 5:00pm PST to enter. Click here to enter!

Valentine's Look #1: Pretty in Pink

With Valentine's Day just days away, I thought it would be fun to do a different FOTD each day, with each day focused on a different color of pink.

Today's FOTD is focused on light pinks and shimmers to give the skin a rosy glow

This look is good for a simple day out with your loved one, such as a nice lunch or if the weather is permitting, a picnic in the park.

I kept it pretty simple with a light wash of color on the lids, rosy blush, and a pink lipgstick topped with clear gloss. The headband is actually just a necklace I wrapped around twice. Don't you love the Hello Kitty lollipop?

Makeup used:

Face: Revlon Photo Ready Foundation in Golden Beige

SilkyGirl Shimmer Blush Duo in Sunny Glow

Benefit High Beam Highlighter

Eyes: a light pink and a white shadow from my random eyeshadow palette

Loreal Infallible Eyeliner in Carbon Black

Rimmel The Max Volume Flash Mascara

Lips: Rimmel Lasting Finish Lipstick in Airy Fairy

Lotree Real Gel Clear Gloss

Check back tomorrow for Look #2: Funky Fuschia!

OOTD & FOTD: Michael Jackson Red

Haha, excuse the title but I just had to use it because my boyfriend said my jacket reminded him of the one Michael Jackson wore in his "Thriller" video!

A couple of my followers have requested that I do more fashion posts, so I am happy to oblige, but I probably won't do too many, just because this blog is aimed mostly for makeup and beauty related things, and also because I haven't been feeling too fashionable lately :P But I will post some OOTD's occasionally, so here is my first one:

Ew, my mirror is so dirty! Sorry about the quality, I couldn't get the color to adjust right

Here is the full outfit, yes I am standing in the bathtub, it is the only full length mirror we have in the house! But I am going to get one soon! And that mirror is also quite dirty, yuck :P

The jacket I borrowed from my sister, the boots are from Charlotte Russe, jeans and top are from ? can't remember, probably Forever 21, and the lovely necklace is the one Sophia just sent me! :)

This is the makeup I wore with it, and I know you're not really supposed to match your makeup to your outfit, but I don't care, I do it anyways :P

I don't know why the colors in my photos can't be consistent with each other :(

The makeup I used:

Face: Monistat Anti Chafing Powder Gel as primer

MAC Studio Finish Concealer in NC30

MUFE HD Foundation in Dark Sand

MUFE HD Powder

SilkyGirl Shimmer Duo Blusher in Sunny Glow

Lotree Shimmer Bling Face Designing (to highlight)

Eyes: Sonia Kashuk Dramatically Defining Long Wear Gel Liner

Sally Hansen Fast Fix Eyeshadow Base

Lotree Secret Cream Shadow

Loreal Telescopic Mascara in Carbon Black

Rimmel The Max Volume Flash Mascara in Extreme Black

Lips: Smith's Rosebud Salve (to moisturize)

NYC Lipstick in Sheer Red

Anyways, that's what I wore, thanks for reading! :)

The final items in the package...(click here for Part 1 & Part 2)

Lotree Moisture Skin Primer Pact

Etude House Dream On Pact Slim & Cover

Lotree Shimmer Bling Face Designing

Kelly Water K W-9 All in One Detox Brightening Mask

Kelly Water K W-9 Birch Water Essence Facial Mask & Kelly Water Balance Essenserum

Isa Knox and Cherrya cotton pads (for removing makeup?)

The Face Shop Collagenic Firming Emulsion, Rich Skin, and The Face Shop Arsainte Eco-Therapy Tonic with Essential & Daily Moisturizer (these are sample sizes, but there's a couple of each)

A bunch of samples from The Face Shop, Skin Food, and others, included are BB creams, Essences, Massage Oil, and more

Whew! That is it I think, I hope I didn't miss anything! Of course I'll be doing reviews and swatches, but those will come a little later, and I will probably not review everything, just the products I like the most. I can't wait to try everything! :) Wasn't that the nicest surprise ever? Now I'm trying to think of something to send her back...:P

Okay, so here's Part 2 of the Korean Makeup and Skincare Package post.

Here's what i saw when I opened the box, everything was neatly packaged in bubble wrap!
