Makeup Rescue!

Have you ever had a lipstick that got ruined, i.e, the top melted or fell off, and you didn't want to throw it away? Well instead of wasting it, why don't you follow the steps below to transform your tube lipstick into a portable jar lipstick?

Step 1: Purchase a small jar or container that you want to transfer the lipstick to. Coastal Scents has small glass jars that would be perfect and they are relatively cheap.

Step 2: Remove the lipstick from the tube and place into a microwave safe container. Microwave lipstick on a low setting for a few seconds, just until it gets soft enough to mold into the jar.

Step 3. Scrape the lipstick into the new jar and smooth all edges until lipstick is nice and evenly distributed throughout the jar, and make sure there's room to attach the lid to the jar without lipstick overflowing the sides!

Step 4: Let the lipstick cool until it hardens, then voila! You have a new pot of lipstick which you can apply with your fingers or a lipbrush.

You can also save any eyeshadows, blushes, or powders that have broken free of the compact or palette.

Step 1: Purchase a container to transfer the powder or shadow to, Coastal Scents also has a variety of sifter jars that would work great for this.

Step 2: Place the broken powder into a ziploc bag and making sure it is tightly sealed, crush the powder with your fingers until it is in finely crushed particles.

Step 3: Shake the bag so that all of the powder is in one corner of the ziploc. Cut a tiny hole in the opposite corner so that you can shake the powder into the new jar.

Step 4: Screw on the cap and go! You now have a loose powder eyeshadow, blush, or loose face powder that you can apply with a fluffy brush.
