Tutorial: How to enhance Monolids

This tutorial is aimed mostly at those with monolids (meaning, those without a fold above the upper lashline) because having monolids myself, it has been very difficult learning how to apply my eye makeup so that it enhances my eyes and gives them definition. I have finally learned to accept my eyes the way they are and hopefully I can teach those who have monolids  to embrace them and also how to accentuate them.

So enough talking, let's get started!

(Sorry for the poor quality of the pictures, my camera always makes the pictures different colors and I can never get the lighting right)

Step 1: Apply your eye primer as usual. Next, take a light colored shadow and apply it all over your lids up to your browbone

Step 2: Apply a darker shade of the same color just to the lids

Step 3: Using a contour brush and a darker shade than the last one, define the outer corners of your eyes

Blend outward so there are no harsh edges

Step 4: Using a cream colored shadow, highlight your browbone and also apply a dab on the center of your lid and blend towards the inner tear duct. This will add contour and definition to your lids.

tep 5: Using a gel or cream eyeliner, line your upper and lower lashline, remember on the lower lashline to only bring the line in about halfway, this will prevent your eyes from looking smaller.

Step 6: Apply mascara to top and bottom lashes. Highlight inner tear ducts with a white or cream shadow

Step 7: Remember to define your eyebrows as well, they are what frame your whole face and can make or break your look.

That's it, you're done! Now your eyelids should have some contour and definition. Good luck!
